For many couples, planning a wedding is often an complicated and time-consuming process. It involves dealing with logistical issues, multiple vendors, pricing negotiations, viewing venues and sampling consumables. Thus, some couples decide to hire an wedding planner to simplify this process. As your photographer, I aim to be as clear and as transparent as possible in advance of your important day.
I can work with you directly, or work with whoever you designate as a planner. You have enough stress to worry about for the big day, so I will not be adding to it. In the section below, the important steps are described to provide an clear understanding on the hiring process and all the way through to the final delivery of the photos plus edits. This way, there won't be any surprises coming from me. As a matter of fact, the only surprise should be reserved for first look from your significant other!
You saw my work, read a bit about me and decide to contact me for a quote for photography work. The initial quote is an estimate cost for the coverage provided based on an average timeline of weddings. However, it is by no means a final number. We can adjust the cost based on your needs - in terms of time, scope and additional resources. You'll be asked to fill out an optional form that ask for more details about the wedding before moving on to the next step.
Our first meeting can be over the phone, in person, on Facetime/Skype or whatever means that is most convenient for you! In our meeting, we will discuss over the quote details, the timeline, the logistics and what artistic style you prefer. We'll also talk about if you require additional resources - such as a secondary photographer, videographer or even drone footage!
Based on this meeting, the quote is transformed into a first-draft contract that is presented to you later. If you don't know all the details in the beginning (such as venue location, or exact timeline), that's perfectly fine! The contract remains a draft, pending your final decision. At this point, an deposit is asked from you, so at least the date of your wedding can be reserved.
The confirmation is done when we both sign off on the contract. This is after you make your final decision on items that were left blank on the draft contract. It could also be any changes (in terms of time/logistics) that happened between the first meeting and up to this point. We will have another phone call or face to face meeting to finalize everything at least a few days before W-Day - your wedding day.
On W-Day, I will show up earlier to scout the venue, setup my equipment and meet with both of you. If there's any changes that you expect will happen that differs from what was discussed in the confirmation, we can discuss it then. Otherwise, I'll be photographing according to plan and you can rest assured that I'm never far away. I can report directly to you or to another person you designate as an planner for any new assignments along the way! Near the end of the wedding, we will also take a selfie and we'll discuss the final step, the deliverables.
The delivery of the photos and the final payment will be the last step of this process. I pride myself in giving you the pictures as soon as possible, when the payment is made in full. I can even provide you the entire photo collection on the same day of the wedding! The photo edits will generally take 2-3 weeks to process and that can be sent to you at an later date via a medium that is most convenient for you.
